When Meg tessers away from Camazotz, she ends up at Ixchel, where Aunt Beast lives.
Aunt Beast and the people of her race end up saving Meg, Calvin, and Mr. Murry from the cold. They were near the point of death, until Aunt Beast saved them. The group (Meg especially) was in desperate need of help and food.
Aunt Beast is blind, so she asks Meg to give her a description of some very common things. Aunt Beast received her odd name from Meg, after Meg already tried every other title she could think of.

She appears to have 6 legs and a very furry torso.

2018 film[]
- When they shot the movie, director Ava DuVernay tried out filming the scene with Aunt Beast and Ixchel, but cut it and later stated that the movie flowed so well without it, and that it wasn't needed for the film.
