Information[]

A Wrinkle in Time (Book)[]

Kate is a microbiologist, wife of Dr. Alexander Murry, and mother of the four Murry children. She is first introduced to us in Chapter One of A Wrinkle in Time, and usually referred to as Mrs. Murry.

She has two doctorates and in later books is described as having been a Nobel Prize winner for her research in finding farandolae in mitochondrion.

In Chapter One, it is revealed that both Kate and her husband Alex had been giving Meg and Charles Wallace a number of IQ tests, and Alex reassures Meg that her IQ is more than okay. It is also stated that they gave more tests to Charles and Meg than to the twins.

In an attempt to make Meg feel better, Kate says she was quite un-attractive at her age, as well.

Physical Appearance[]

A Wrinkle in Time (Book)[]

Kate is considered beautiful by the Murry children, having "flaming red hair", violet eyes, and "creamy skin". Her physical attractiveness and academic and scientific accomplishments give Meg a bit of an inferiority complex.

A Wrinkle in Time (2018 film)[]

The 2018 film Kate Murry differs from the Kate in the novels. In the 2018 film, Kate is an African-American woman. She has shoulder-length, black, curly hair, and an olive complexion. Her main outfit throughout the movie consists of a pink, button-down shirt, a brown belt, and jeans.
